Over the holiday season I had purchased a large lot of mixed colored stones I found some wonderful inspiration in the older Cartier designs utilizing the big three Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire. Of course I had to add some diamonds in as well I am sharing the project with you from start to finish so you can get an idea of how design and inspiration work

Starting to separate the stones and collect ideas

I recut a lot of the stones into custom shapes and then did a lay out in the wax as shown below

The final result. A wide band set with scatted Emeralds, Rubies. Sapphires and Diamonds.
